Best Shift Point?
Now this is just my opinion based on my own experience so here goes...
i think 8700 is about right based on the graph.
On my bro's all motor build his motor made 260 right around 8600. but he would still take it to about 8800-8900 even though it fell off a little hp wise after 8600 just for the actual wheel speed by dragging the gear longer.
I always thought this was wierd and one day called him on it. I said why drag it longer if we stopped making power at 8600. So he tried shifting right at 8600. He is a pretty consistent driver and while the runs weren't incredibly slower they were definitely not has quick or fast when shifting a little past the power band.
now people can scream all they want i just wanted say it based on my experience!!!
depends on the trans. But I would say it's worth it to rev it out a little so land back in high torque region. 8700-8800rpm
What the hell did you tune that thing with. A/F is all fucked up

You need to shift at the highest you're willing to take it.
Calculate the torque applied to the wheels in each gear via the transmission, and that will tell you when to shift. It doesn't matter if you make 10 less ft-lbs by revving the wee out of it, as the transmission torque multiplication is more of a factor than a measly 10 ft-lbs. I'm far from a pro, and far from very knowledgeable, but this is a series of calculations I ran for a friend. You don't need to take the FD into account because it's a constant.

So how do you ask this question, giving us not an actuall dyno tune?
