I prefer something stiff w/ adjustable dampening so when driving on the street you can soften it up some. I run GC/Koni yellows. 650f/550r. When I'm at the track turn dampening all the way up in the rear to stiffen it up. For street driving I back them way down so it's smoother as apposed to stiff.

Re: Best Racing suspension
i have the omni drags in my boosted civic and progress cs2's in my em1 daily driver.
i like the handing ability of the drags there is absolutely no body roll ( im sure the cage helps too) but when i hit a good bump with any speed things in my trunk certainly go airborne for a split second.
my progress' are 350f/500r. i feel the front dips a bit on hard corners. something with rates around what 93egsleeper said would be my recommendation, and adjustable valving would be beneficial

Re: Best Racing suspension
We run the blox drags. There not setup very well but they work. 1.59's best 60ft so far. Something with bound and rebound adjustability on the shock is best. Strange or Penske. Skunk2 supposed to be good too but I've never used those.

The spring rates are all wrong in the blox drags and the shock valving isn't good either and not adjustable but we're making them work the best we can.

Yeah all the fast guys I know do it this way, Strange says when you put your car on scales you should order springs that match the weight of the front and rears so that is what I did. My front on the scales were a little over 750 and the rear was about 350 so I ordered what was close. The adjustments on the strange setup is also great because you can adjust compression and rebound.

What I also find funny is that you all are bragging about 1.58-9 60' times.
No offense (my best is a 1.65), but my buddy has a 290 hp single cam, very basic setup, that cuts 1.57 60' times. He has Koni yellows, some old H&R sport springs, an LSD, 23" M&H's, and traction bars. That's it. Why the hell is his 60' time so good with such basic stuff?

And it's funny you are comparing a 290hp NA car where power and weight transfer isnt as extreme as the 700+ turbo cars mentioned in this thread. Not exactly apples to apples..

Secondly, it's not a NA car, it's a turbo Vitara D-series. Same setup as mine, pretty much. I'm just trying to figure out how his **** works better than mine (and apparently alot of other peoples) with such simple crap.

Re: Best Racing suspension
I have cut a 1.58 in a turbo integra that wasn't very light on ground controls/konis, no traction bar, and m-h 25's. I later on got a traction bar and switched to the d2 drag coilovers and never got any quicker, but also didn't get much time to mess with them.

You have to play with a lot of things to get them right. There is an NA guy on here who posted maybe 6 months ago a video and time slip who swapped over to Strange Coilovers and had 1.4x 60fts. I see guys with my same setup in the low 1.5's but everything is dialed in.
I lowered the boost in 1st gear and went from 1.72 to 1.58 with 8.5 psi in my slicks. Everytime I run less air in my slicks my 60ft. got worse. We kept playing with boost and air pressure to get my 60ft down. I haven't even began to play with the shock adjustment yet. I also ran a tenth faster when I borrowed my friends 10 inch wide welds who had 9.5 wide m&hs compared to my 9 inch wide welds with 8.5 wide m&hs.
It's all about playing and testing until you get the right combo. I ran a 1.63 with a stock suspension just by using a 10 inch wide weld rim and 9.5 m&h slick combo. So you don't have to spend tons of cash on a suspension to get pretty dang good 60fts. But the serious competition will spend 5k or more if that means they go from 1.59 to a 1.49.
