The racers HAVE to take the initiative to enforce and improve the safety. The guys sitting in the office at NHRA have nothing without feedback from the racers. They are the only ones that know the cars front to back. I understand what you are saying, but the only way to go about this is with feedback from the racers and with a racer's private R&D program like what they have around the corner from my house at JFR. NHRA doesn't have the resources to conduct this sort of thing on their own.
