the car must 'die' or shut off when switch is turned off
i ran battery power in and out, and altenator in and out from fuse panel

Re: battery kill switch pics
You're the man.
can you post some more pics and quick description of what you did?
this was exactly what i wanted to do to a spare taillight i have, just dont know how to go about doing it. drilling/hacking up a perfectly fine body part doesn't exactly fly with me, hence why i want to do this to a spair taillight.
any info would be appreciated!

Re: battery kill switch pics
dont have pic of the install instruction but try to understand my explanation....
forget about the 2 small terminal on the switch use only the 2 big ones,
my battery is relocated to the trunk so it goes like this:
one long 2 gauge wire from one side of the switch the engine bay using a distribution block splited to the starter, fuse box, and junp start terminal behind the headlight in fender. the other side of the switch goes to the battery, check to make sure its inline correctly so off will be off and on will be on.
next step: run a 4 gauge wire from the battery side of the switch to the alternator, this way the the alternator will still charges the battery, and the switch will kill the power to the engine in the even of a accident/fire that means you kill both the battery and the alternator... thats the NHRA rule.

could you add the alternator to the distribution block? would this work per NHRA ruling? or would it work at all?

Re: battery kill switch pics
if you add the alternator to the distribution block it will not kill the motor, the engine will runs it will be like just disconnecting the battery after the car has been running, alternator will still supply power to the fuse box, and all accessories. will not comply with NHRA rule book
quoted from rule book
Battery Relocation
If the battery is not in the stock location, and relocated to the trunk for example, you must have an external cut‐off
switch on the back of the car which cuts off the electrical system and must also stop the car from running.
I beleive it was rule number 8

Re: battery kill switch pics
How many of you guys are wiring the kill switch to the ground side of the battery? Instead of running two power cables(feed and return) and relay. Just a thought.

Re: battery kill switch pics
I just read the rules.....I thought you needed a kill switch at 11.49 or faster...I guess not.
8:4 MASTER CUTOFF
Mandatory when battery is relocated or on any vehicle running
9.99 or quicker.
