I remember seeing Andrew's yellow CRX, fresh out the paint shop with the Mugen kit at the street races. 1992-93ish I think. Thats when I fell in love with the CRX. haha. Wow, 19 years ago. Doesnt seem like it though.
Seeing a Turbo Mag back in early 96 is what got me started in import drag racing. I had just bought a 96 Civic EX and never thought a second about racing it until I picked up that mag. I was born into drag racing but never would of thought that 4 cyl engine could go low 11's....

Anyways, I had a 67 VW Bug in high school and realized then while looking through magazines that people were into racing different things. This was in 1993-1996. In 1996 I got a Super Street magazine and saw a Prelude with nitrous, it was then that I realized that I wanted to get into Hondas. I started buying the Turbo magazines and then got a subscription and tried to learn all about the stuff.
I remember all of these cars, but my personal favorite was Lanny Higa's car when it came along. I remember it back in the day and thought it was completely bad ***. I guess I still do consider it bad *** and wander what ever happened to it.
lol... How old do you think it make people feel that were there at JG when that pic was taken?? lmao... Damn I am old!
I remember one weekend We took Rons car to Vegas for an event on a Saturday. Then left right after, swapped out the doors & trunk to take it to a car show in San Diego. Which he won the car show too.
How many of you remember the guy standing against the bay door opening??? lol Do any of you remember his name?

I was born into drag racing too and ever remember seeing a FWD car at the track back in the 80's with my dad. I thought it was funny because it was so out of place, although it was a bracket car.

James West (Split Second) bought Andrew Yang's (Wicked) CRX and he told me he'll be bringing it out this summer. I've been tempted to buy Gary Higashi's (Street Image) Black Turbo DA and resurrect that as well. If you were around back then, you'll know these cars... I miss the days when cars had reps, not from forums, magazine or events, but from the street racing that started this whole movement.
