Ass dragging?
How do you guys get heat into your tyres? Everytime I do a burnout the car just drags the (locked) rear tyres down to the startline. I need an anchor or something. How do you guys with slicks go?
Start at the edge of the water box...you pull through and out of it...Do your burnout with the rears locked and release it when the tires start grabbing. That's all you need.

The e-brake locks the rears but the car just drags the locked rear tyres thru the water. I start with the rears on dry concrete. I think that there just isnt enough weight over the rear tyres. I weighed the rear and it has 440lb on it.
Hehehe I need a 60 litre container of water in the rear. Do the burnout and then a trap door opens and I dump the water. I can see it now everyone running cause they think that the fuel tank has ruptured hehehe

Tie a rope to the end of your car and have your friends hold it until your ready. Make sure these are not good friends. Hehe
Honestly I don't think your going to have any luck fixing this with your weight the way it is. I would say light the tires up at a higher rpm and just get what you can. I don't think you need to sit in the box for more than 5-10seconds.

id say..
spin the tires in the water box, maybe 1 or 2 tire rotations to get them wet. make sure the back doesnt go into the water box(like posted above) than try to do your little burnout.

What gear are you using to burnout? I used 2nd gear, no problems here... 1st might not spin 'em fast enough, so they start to grip & pull you out of the box. Just a thought

I think I meant easier...
If your having trouble doing a good burnout starting in 2nd, you can do it in first.
Also, I've successfully started in 1st and shifted to 2nd keeping the tires going.
That might be best?

Do your burnout in second...plenty of RPMs.
You don't need to melt the tires...just heat them a little. A couple seconds in the box is enough. They should be heated enough with a short, strong 2nd gear burn by the time your car pulls through.
Saves a few 1/4 passes worth of rubber each time you do that too!

If oyu have a two step or three step its easyto set it up so you can rev it up and drop the clutch in second. Easily breaks the tires loose for easy burnout. I would think the synchro would get a little fussy when shifting in the box. And to me the longer I can go without rebuilding that damn trans again the better.
I have only an ACT HD clutch with a stock disc and it has no problem lighting them up in 2nd.
Think about it; you're in a depression full of water with tires that have no tread for water evacuation. Hydroplaning is easy in this situation

if a little SOHC motor can do a second gear burnout (see above picture) then nobody should have any problems.
Rev to 5000 rpm, dump clutch, raise revs to 7000 rpm and hold.
Yes, I did get carried away in the picture, but I knew someone was taking pictures.
