Anyone else had problems with MSD Digital 6?
For some reason around 7500 rpms+, my car will backfire slightly and sometimes hesitate. This only happens sometimes though, other times it will go to 8k in 1st-3rd just fine.
Here's my ignition setup:
MSD Digital 6
MSD Blaster HVC Coil
Any ideas?

have you had your MSD for awhile and now it's starting to act up?
Because if you have it is most definetly your ignitor
With the extra voltage being fed to the stock honda ignitor heat becomes an issue and they tend to die causing your car to misfire. It usually starts in the uper RPM range and works its way down as the ignitor gets worse and worse

I've heard alot lately about MSD ignitions goin bad...Some people swear by it and others hate it...Its all about what kinda experience they had with it....I think its a quality control issue which needs to be resolved ASAP or they're gonna start to lose alot of new customers with the young import crowd...
Yeah, its the same problem a friend of mine has had. It now sits in his garage after having changed the cap and rotor with no better results. Mine fried out on me the morning of a race. Took awhile to figure out it was it. Now its always the first thing to check.

Again i must stress that it's not the MSD that is the problem it is the stock honda ignitor that can't handle the voltage it is being sent
Our cars aren't the only ones that have this problem ask around the supra forums and you'll see the same sort of problems.
It's nice to know that MSD cares enough about the import market not to develop a high voltage ignitor, they make them for their domestic distributor applications, but nothing for us
Sad

I bought it more so for the 2 step and the fact that my chipped P28 didn't come with a rev limiter.
That's besides the point though.

have you had it on the dyno to check the a/f? a/f off can cuase it, plug gaps, ect, check the simple stuff before you rule it to be the box. 9/10 its not the box
Just wanted to give an update for anyone that might be searching Honda-Tech for help with the same problem. I replaced my stock spark plug wires with some NGKs and everything's gravy.
