Default AEM Traction Control Help

I just installed the Xenocron rear wheel speed sensor in my EG, it is able to read wheel speed, but my acceleration data seems unusable.

Here are the last setting I used

This is the log using those settings

The top lane seems to show how much wheel spin there is, the computer can't even calculate the gear (since the speed data is coming from the rear wheel). The third lane shows the TC status which I don't understand, the value goes from 0-112, after 10 seconds the car is decelerating but the TC is coming on?

I haven't been able to find any helpful threads on this so far. So any help would be appreciated.

You have to get your speed calculation corrected before you can even think about traction control.
You also have to fix how the gear is calculated.

Why would you get rid of VSS and use only rear speed? Or do you use both?

TC status = when traction control is active. I think you know this though....

As you can see from the third chart the TC is not actually doing anything. It's not pulling timing, cutting fuel or ignition.

Work out the basics first.

I have my rear vss reading correct. What would the best way to get a percentage of slip between front and rear tires? I'm running rear on spare vss and can log both front and rear but would like to make the car work even better on the street. Thanks

I have calibrated the new speed calculations against a gps.

I used the gear wizard built into AEM tuner if that's what you mean.

The AEM forums are down so I emailed them, they said that you can only pull vehicle speed from one sensor.

Are you running the Series 2 EMS? As noted above AEM said that only 1 vss can be used on this box.

Edit:

Found a video with a little bit of info, could be helpful

Run VSS into the normal speed input, then have your ground speed sensor go into a digital input.

The best way to determine slip is to measure the delta between driven wheel and undriven wheel. IE: Front vs. Rear or Front vs GPS speed. GPS is slow to react in my opinion so I like Front vs. Rear.

up for info! i wanted to run using TC also and compare results with 3step...

i'm using ground speed as my T3 and tranny VSS as T4 to log...
but my gear calculation is so messed up. I'm using the gear wizard as well, but when doing a pass, calculated gears results is coming all over the place.

How did you configure t3 as ground speed? I'd be interested in seeing your TC config too. Run looks good on paper, what kind of 60' are you pulling?

I havnt used tc yet. I think only for it to work your t3 and t4 should be exactly the same. Thats where my problem is. Car is a racecar. When you make a pass, slicks are a bit taller compared to when you are running the car to calibrate. I assume you drive around the car while calobrating both vss? And trying to make both front and rear read the same? I use iphone app gps to get actual speed and sync all three. Ill pm you my cal

When adding ground speed, this should now be considered your 'VSS' for the plug-n-play boxes.

You can only utilize one vehicle speed input with the box - T3 will be ground speed, T4 will be your front speed. T3/Ground Speed will be used for TC, T4/Front Speed for data - which will then be calculated in your log.
