I can understand that, but at the same time. It needs to be a proper setup to adjust for level. Car on jack stands in my mind is worse than just sitting on wheels.

You guys can do what you want but if I was to have a shop do my cage and I walked in and it was on the suspension. The work would be stopped and the car would be going else where. If your still going with the bolt in setup it isn't as critical as there will be still play, but welded in you want it blocked and leveled. It's right in the NHRA rule book.

Doesn't that just move the point the car is flexing from though?
At least if the car is on it's wheels it's closer to being supported near the major mass (engine) instead of being bent by lever action.
Section?

I'm looking through the sections now trying to find it. Might have actually been the installation instructions I read back when I did my first cage. I just remember reading that it must be jacked and leveled.
Also going back to welding with the car sitting on the suspension even if the suspension is completely solid (I have 12k in the front and 18k in the back and mine still moves a little bit) and setup up with a little twist in it then that twist will stay there. This might be so slight you will never notice it but why take the chance for half hour of jacking, blocking and leveling the car.

They said it should be done by the end of the week. I will be at Honda day, leaving Friday morning and making the drive from WI. The sooner I get the car back the sooner I can get this project on the road. I got a **** ton of parts waiting for this seasons build. It's gonna be sick. Here's a preview

Thanks guys. Gave up the good OL H-series Trans this season and doing H2B with a PPG dogbox. Decided to do a proper build also GE sleeved block, manly rods, custom pistons, the whole nine yards. I want to ruin people's dreams this year in the Midwest

As much as I was hoping to see just how long you could push the stock sleeves and Mahles, this looks badass, should be a killer setup!

Yeah I think the stock sleeves and Mahles were pretty much maxed out. I put down 549whp. I think it was pretty much maxed out for realibility

Thanks man. Now you guys could imagine the type of sickness I had when my car was dropped off the way it was. All this $$$ in parts to drop into a piece of junk made me sick. But so far so good. Should be done by Monday. I have to go up there on Thursday to sit in the car so they got my door bars in the right spot. Some more car **** for you guys...
had the cold side powder coated and the hot jet coated
