You can, obviously the tech didn't notate that. That rule is severely up to interpretation.

Yeah, I remember quite a few years back, every other post in a drag car build thread was "those "D" bars are not legal". When I get mine done this offseason, I will have my cage builder weld in a set of rocker plates and a bar that goes from rocker to rocker, then attach the "D" bars to that. With the way the current rule book reads, that is the way they want them done on our cars. That is the only way I would do it at this point. No point in trying to work around an interpretation that may or may not pass a certification.

Plating the tunnel and running the d bars to it in only legal for rwd and awd. Fwd d bars must attach to a 1.625" bar that runs across the floor and is welded to plates on the rockers.

Some inspectors will overlook it, but its not legal.

i just had a cage put in my civic. i waited almost 3 years to find the right guy to do it. i went with Junior at Texas IRS. he did my cage chromolly in one day and last weekend i took it to dragmania in ennis tx it passed tech with no problem. i said all that to say this do your research. i saw over 10 cars that junior did when he worked at import dps in philly. ever shop says there the greatest but unless the have the work to prove don't believe it. a pair of lips will say anything.

So just a update. I told the owner of one-Sixx tuning "Milwaukee" that I'd give them until Tuesday to come up with a answer to make this right. No call, no reply back and it's 4:30 here. So it's unfortunate of the outcome but I think everybody here knows the next step. Gonna have to legally drag them thu the ropes.

I got Jim Quinn chassis service here right now at my garage. Old guy, been building cages for 50 years. Came out to give me a quote and the first thing he says "Who the **** put this cage in!?" Like the old man was yelling at me in anger. He said he wouldn't let Ted peters "tag his dog" this guy is cracking me up right now lol

its unfortunate as now its going to become more of a legality issue for them as well. The court is going to want to look at ALL of there work and potentially could be shut down, which I hope they do. that kind of work is BS. I wonder how many people have gotten screwed over, or had improperly setup cages etc.

I checked onesixx out and it appears they just sling EBAY bullshit for the most part. They also sling bwr parts as if they are associated with BWR. They all look like a bunch of friggin kids.. smh

did you just find out about Jim Quinn? Or why did he not do the cage in the first place? That's who you want to have their hands on your car....the guys that have been doing it forever and actually DO chassis work, not just sell parts and tune.

Yes I just found out about Jim Quinn. One of the most intelligent old men that I've ever talked to. He just left. The guys stories and how he has helped the industry grow were amazing. The guy was actually involved in the Ted peters and NHRA lawsuit. Anyways all said and done he's going to make it right. He was blown away by the garbage work that was performed. He said they shouldn't be allowed to work on a lawn mower.

this whole thread is insanity. At this point, one-sixx is just trying to kill you, because thats what that cage is going to do.

That tech is equally at fault. These are certified roll cages, you cant make that mistake.

Regardless of what your personal cage is or isn't, no one cares and these pictures speak for themselves. It is just adding insult to injury that you keep attempting to reference your own car as if it matters at all in this situation.

You all had 2 tries to get it right. This is a roll cage to protect this man's life in case of accident, something to be taken VERY seriously. No excuse for what half *** **** was delivered to him, TWICE!
