Default 60 ft problem

hi, im an amateur, i started racing about a month ago.
im currently using my brothers race car

honda ek9:
b20 vtec n/a (250whp on dyno run)
lightened body
24' slicks @8psi / skinnies at the rear (lenso rims)
traction bar

i was having a problem w/ my 60 ft times, the best time ive got is only 2.2-2.4
the suspension setup sucks as i can see that when launching the car raises and dribles for a while. i got a best et at 12.6 at 1/4m at 115mph. (i know i can do better w/ more practice)

so this week, i changed the rear suspension w/ performance coilovers.
unfortunately i can't go to a track to time my practices..
i tried it on the street, it looked better when launching the last time but still there is a little bounce after i launch. im also using adj coilovers in the front but they are not performance wise compared to the rear suspension.

should i drop the front coilovers to the fullest? right now there is a 3"-2.5" clearance in the front fender to the tire.
im launching at 5k-5.k.rpm, it has a slight spin at first but i feel like its better than launching at 4.5-4.8krpm because there is no spin but i feel like the car is going to bog down. --> am i right on using this technique? do u have some few wheelspins also but getting good 60 fts times? got to try it on the track first but im so busy to go out right now.

pardon for a long thread, hope u enlighten me guys.

Try raising your launch rpm. Are you preloading? And play with the tire pressure to find your best pressure to launch at. You should at the very least cut a 1.8 60'.

i don't know how to use preloading. i've heard it is good to save axles from braking but requires alot of practice.

how do u perform preloading? i also use a 2 step launch module. my tires are on 8psi right now should i lower it more? i will try to launch at 6k. is it normal to have a little wheelspin before u got full traction?

sorry for some noob questions.

You got to test it out. See if you get a better 60' spinning or bogging. Preloading basically is you pull the ebrake let the clutch out about half way so it's to the point were the car wants to move forward and you step on the gas. Then when it's time to take off let go of the clutch pedal and drop the ebrake. It does take practice.

your slicks are way too big.

get some 22's and launch higher, around 7000+ rpm

He says he is at 250 whp in a light weight shell, so 22's would be too small at his power level. Try to launch higher on the 24's or see if you can borrow some 23's at least.

you can take the e-brake out and shave the teeth off except the top few so you can still use it.

i've got a problem w/ preloading when using my msd 7al..

when i pull the e-brake and release the clutch to the point that wheels are pulling, the launch control disengages...

so how can i remedy this problem?

i don't know how they installed the msd, but this is how i use my launch control: i have to press a button, wot the gas the launch control starts, release the clutch and launch.

do u floor the gas when using the rev limiter or just let it sit just enough until the limiter engages?
