12 second civic !!!!!!!
New Best:
R/T .699
60ft. 1.917
330’ 5.529
1/8 8.423
mph 85.71
¼ 12.999
mph 107.56
Jim at Motorvations in Trussville, AL (plug) let me borrow his 22x8 M/T slicks. I started out with a 13.5, then a 13.3, and a 13.244. Then for the last run (one above) I dropped the tire pressure from 16psi to 12psi, changed the shiftpoint from 8000 to 7800 (I feel the need to visit my rev limiter too much), and just barely slipped the clutch at 6500rpm. Pulling that kind of 60ft. felt great. Track conditions: 90+ degrees, sticky track, and a little overcast (as if that mattered). This all on an open diff, stock driveline with exception to the CM stage 1 clutch, and stock block.

ill give ya some other advice. if ur runnin high 12s at best ur not makin enough power to break those 22" slicks free, dont slip the clutch, drop that thing and they will grab. 60's will get even better and ETs will drop too.
Yeah, I was having a hard time doing a burnout (not much of one). I thought a low 1.9 60ft. is good? Anyways, they weren't my slicks and I don't plan on getting any or breaking any piece of my driveline to get a better time. I just wanted to prove to myself that I could run a 12 second pass, and it only took me four tries (man, slicks are hard to get used to). Thanks, for the advice (just in case I change my mind in the future).
ahh u ran 12s, u will want more. been there done that. breaking axles sux but i found the secret to not breaking axles is gettin the car as light as possible. i launch at 8-8.5k and let it fly. low 1.9s isnt bad at all but once i actually pushed the slicks to what they were made for i found awesome results. low 1.6 60s.
Yeah! I also notice that if your car is lighter the axles don't break as easy. And another thing is if you preload your clutch it helps prevent the the axles and clutch from breaking as easy.

Paul - I would love to start going to MMP when school starts back, but for right now I would rather go to Steele since it is only 15 miles from my house. I see now that you got your car together, you are wanting me to come out, huh? LOL, jk! I will be back down in AU the first of August.
