Quick Quiz: Wax or no Wax
Rolled a 2011 Honda Accord outside to take a few pictures.
Does the car have a wax/sealant or nothing at all? (I know the answer, looking for your opinions...to illustrate a point)

Well seeing how it is relatively new, I would assume that the factory paint is still well protected. In my noob excperience, an application of wax wouldn't hurt to apply.

It might have a factory sealant on it, or the brand new paint might just bead like that. I would wash/clay/ and put a sealant on top, then top with a carnuba wax. If you're worried there is still a wax/sealant on there, you could always strip it off and start over fresh! (that's what i'd do)

Guys, I know the answer...as I detailed the car.
Was wondering if you could tell by looking at the pics...if it does or doesn't have anything on the paint.

What makes you say no?
I will keep the suspense going for a bit...
Also, I'll post a few more pictures of the car. Since it was raining all day I really didn't get any good after pics.
For a 2011, the car wasn't in great shape. Reclaimed water had really taken a toll on the clearcoat...and was VERY DIFFICULT to remove. In the end I didn't feel comfortable removing the etched spots completely...instead going 60-70% of the way since the car would probably have another encounter with reclaimed water in the future.
And two after pics...(now, are the first two pics from before sealant and after polishing or after sealant)

Re: Quick Quiz: Wax or no Wax
It looks waxed/sealed as the water is still beading off the paint. The before pics look pretty harsh for a 2011 Accord... lots of waterspots (mineral deposits/etching) and swirls. I have hard water (well water) here, and the spots aren't that bad.

Re: Quick Quiz: Wax or no Wax
i wasnt aware that it was raining when the pictures were taken; however, the reason why i say it isnt wax is because the fact the water didnt bead OFF the car as they are still sitting on the hood.
but im still sticking with my answer as it is NOT waxed.

The car's paint is completely bare.
After polishing, I pulled the car outside to illustrate the fact that water beads on paint because of surface tension. If the surface is smooth, water will bead.
