Yet another s600 thread
Here are some pics of my 1965 s600 RHD conv. The car has not been started in over 30 years, and is a mess of brake fluid, and old fuel. I bought THIS one particularly because it HAD NOT been taken apart and packed into 100 small boxes (like 95% of these when they are offered for sale) Someday when I'm like 95 years old or something this thing will be 100% restored, so officially mark another S600 FOREVER taken off the available market.
oh yeah by the way, has anybody seen MY engine? AS285E-1009592 it apparently got swapped awhile back. If you know anybody with an s600 that could check their engine# it would be awesome to see what happened to it (maybe I have theirs!)

Car looks like a great restoration candidate. I wish you the best of luck with it.
Just curious, where did you find it? I usually keep up to date on what S-cars are being sold and where, but I haven't seen this one I don't think.
Regarding the alternator auction, it ends in 3 days (as of 10:30 P.M. Wednesday)
There's not to much to translate, it just states that it's an overhauled S600 alternator, (not NOS). The rest just talks about shipping and handling and bidding details.
Consider my spare steering column bracket yours. If you want it now, I just ask you pay shipping for it. However, I can give it to you in person if you go to the S-car gathering this September in Middletown NY (Have you heard about this meet yet?)

Re: Yet another s600 thread (smithenhiven)
Thanks for the positive re-enforcement all.
smithenhiven- This car was on ebay a long while back, and did not meet the reserve, after a several back and forth discussions, and a 16hour road trip I had a bill of sale. It then took me another 3 months before I could go back and transport it home. I'm sure you would have seen it on ebay.
As for the alt, I think I'm going to hold off since its not NOS. I have one now, but its VERY chewed up inside, and needs LOTS of parts and work (still maybe cheaper than $400 though) N.O.S would have been another story.
and as for the gathering in September, I had heard about it, but it seemed like it stopped in 2005 with their last website update. I will surely be there if it is still an active event. Where would I find out info?

Nice find! It's great when you can pick a project up that hasn't been stripped down. Took me a while to get one like that. Best of luck!!!

Yes, it is still going on. I can say this with certainty, because I was just in contact with the host, Brian B., about it.
If you still would like to confirm it for yourself, you can reach him via email through his website. He likes people to RSVP anyway, so that he can know how many people to expect.

Dawn dish detergent, sonic care toothbrush, ultrasonic cleaner, and a brief encounter with a plastic putty knife. I did not use anything abrasive. Nothing has been painted because almost every part in the engine bay SHOULD be gold zinc plated and someday it will be again (just not now) the pictures would look less flattering up close, but thanks for the comment!

I shall give that a shot then! :D! I heard about two days ago from another s-owner that the s600 had gold zinc plated air filter cover and spark plug cover? I have only seen one car with gold in the engine bay (seen here http://www.honda600coupe.com/Luca_Honda_S600.html), all the rest seem to be silver. There should be more parts zinc plated gold?

smithenhiven- Thats what I'm talkin about! The price seems alot better. I would really like to try and win that item. If your friend in Japan would be willing to help me out I would be forever indebted. I guess I still can't get pm's cause I'm a newbie, but I created a hotmail account just so I can get in contact w/you hopefully we can work something out.
Ztlohmak- I'm not really sure now that I was looking, but I found this picture (with messed up color) it seems like all the hose clamps, brackets etc are plated, but maybe not everything. My engine casing has some kind of coating applied that is kinda zinc colored but most of that has flaked off. It just seems like almost all of the stuff I really look closely at has had some kind of goldish color at one point or another in its life. If anyone has any good pictures of what the engine looked like off the showroom floor I would love to be corrected!

Hey ekim,
I haven't heard from you in a while, how's your car going?
Anyway, I was browsing Japan Yahoo Auction, and came across this auction. I believe you need this right?
Steering column plastic covers:
http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co...66037
Some slight damage, but perhaps that will be hidden by the steering wheel?
