Default why?

Having trouble with my '84 CRX, yesterday it was running fine, and I replaced the valve stem seals and other components on the auxilary valves, got it put back together, and now it wont start. Its getting fuel, and the plugs spark. If its pushed it will start, but doesnt have as much power as it usualy does and dies when the clutch is pushed in. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks,
Morgan

Did you check your Valve lash and put it back to specs? Also is all your wiring connected. All grounds?

There wasnt any compression, and I found that the exhaust valves were staying opening, so I adjusted the rocker arms, and it ran fine. I took it for a good test drive, and it ran good. Then when I was driving it later, I went after a stop light and it had different problems. It was late last night so I havent had time to work on it again, although it seems to be running really lean. Any ideas on the new problem? Thanks.

Have you been driving your old Honda "enthusiastically?"

There is a VERY good chance that your timing belt has slipped a tooth because #1- your timing belt is old #2- you have revved the enigne hard

And even if you think that everything is OK with your timing belt, it is a good idea to check your cam timing when your car presents symptoms like this.

Its a fairly new timing belt, and I drive it normaly except for the occaisional hard run just to make sure everything is working properly after fixing things. I changed the fuel filter by the gas tank and it seems to be doing alright now (fingers crossed).
