Repro replacement rollers for the chaincase should be available from Michael Ortmann http://bit.ly/QjgtA. At 27 Euros per, it's probably cost effective to order them and they'll be the right size.

I will turn up my own tensioner rollers and drill and tap the pin to take a retaining screw like my friend in California has done in the following pics.

I have just purchased a collection of S600 used parts to help complete this project and to have available to swap and trade with others. I scored some used chains for my rear axle that are much better than what I had. I can get on and assemble that now.

I haven't cleaned up any of the bits yet, Its really just a way of keeping track of what's there. Just Junk to most. BTW There is a brand new Coupe windscreen!

Thanks for taking the time to post the parts list with photos. All those bits should help your restoration along and there may be others in Australia interested in swaps. A new coupe windshield is a real find!

very nice work and thanks for all the detailed pics. Here in Europe the S600 is much rarer than the S800. I actually never even saw an S600 Coupe live.

I have washed and cleaned up on a wire wheel, some front suspension parts. By turning the chassis upside down, fitting the torsion bars and lower arms was easier. I will need to grit blast and paint or powder coat later but for now I just want to check the fit and the wear of the bits.
Ball joint rubbers have disintegrated, but the joints themselves don't seem too bad. Will need to swing on a road wheel to get a good feel for any slack in the assembly.

Today I cleaned up the steering rack and rods. The steering arm that attaches to the front stub axles also bolts through the brake anchor plates. I've had them grit blasted and black etched. I have also had the aluminum brake drums glass bead blasted. The rims have been blasted primed and powder coated silver-grey. I mounted some old racing tyres on the rims just for fun. The whole chassis is still upside down just balancing on a scissor lift trolley. There is not a lot of weight in it yet and it is great to work on at a comfortable height.

Fitted the front sway bar. One of the front rubbers is missing. Fitted new bearings to the rear wheel axles and bolted the casings together without the drive chains. Just want to get the chassis back on 4 wheels. Cleaned up the old rear shocks and springs to support the swing arms.

We got a new lathe last week. After a few lessons from my father and some familiarization with the new machine, we turned up some tensioner rollers. The yellow nylon material is sold as "Wearlon" by Consolidated Bearings. It comes in 3 colors, Yellow being impregnated with lubricant, White for food grade applications and Grey for heavy duty. I have made an extra set with M6 screws and counter-sunk washers for sale or swap.

Been working on the diff centre this week. Disassembled it and washed and wire brushed the housing. Checked the bearings and the backlash. Looks good to go. Will change the front oil seal before its run.
Sold my first lot of old spare parts. 2 headlight rims and a lens sent to California.
Spent the last 3 weeks preparing our Formula Ford for a local race meeting ran on the weekend. We won race 4 on Sunday!

Check out the tiny oil pump in the bell housing of the S600 gearbox.
This box is from my spares collection and I am seeing if it is OK before I start on my own cars gearbox. All looks good so far and has been easy to disassemble. Backlash is well within tolerances and syncros look quite good.

So cleaning and reassembly begins. Here is a before and after pic of the gear selector forks. Quite a neat interlock mech prevents selection of 2 gears simultaneously.
