I use this site alot for my 2nd gen. Click #9 on the picutre. Then take the part number to your local honda dealer. They will be able to get it for you.

Why does it have to be brand new?

There is an 83 Civic in Birmingham and one in Mobile Pull-A-Part. Those hoods are $28.

yeah i saw the one at pull at part. it has to be new becuase the metal back then was so thin that it is super hard to work any dents out and not have it sag 4 months down the road

lol - no offense, but that's a pretty weak reason. Lots of people do body work on all these cars all the time without sagging problems. Heck, even brand new parts need filler sometimes!

none taken. but my family owns 3 body and paint shops we could fix the hood sure nothing to it but when a hood is as thin as those are back then by the time you bondo it and do all the prep a few months down the road it will start to sag or crack from the hood shutting.honda has discontinued the hood and our parts fender at our shops cant even get them. but i got lucky i found a guy in pa that had a new on that he had never sold so i bought that one.yes new parts do need filler sometimes but when its a big dent and on a thin hood its best just to get a new hood or reinforce the one you have if there is enough metal on the existing hood to do so. in my case there is not. but the one i got is unpainted and it was 245 shipped to me
