Re: Honda S600 AS285-1004838 Restoration
This S600 was rescued from the scrap metal recyclers…
The person I purchased this off noticed that the family of a deceased estate next door was clearing out the sheds in the back yard, he was aware of a small Honda being stored in there since the early 1980’s, he asked what they had intended on doing with it, they said they were calling the metal recyclers to come and collect it.. so he rescued it with the intention on restoring it with the son of the previous owner.. this was not to eventuate.. unfortualty they had commenced disassembly however luckily nothing was lost and all items were labelled and stored correctly.
The deceased owner had this car from the late 1960’s early 1970’s

Once the car arrived home I placed most items back on the car to check what was missing… luckily nothing was identified..
There is zero rust in the shell of the car, unfortualty it has received a dust over respray in the 1970’s in a darker red.. if it had not have I would have simply re assembled and left original.. as you can see where the windscreen has been removed the pain was in amazing condition.. there is still the factory protective plastic on interior trim parts, original soft top in very good condition only requiring replacement of the clear PVC windows, half and full tonneau covers, glove box manuals etc… was a great find…
