Re: Carburetor problem!
I have a 1987 Honda CRX DX, carburetor, that we have cleaned and rebuild the carburetor, but we are not getting fuel to leave the float. So the venturi is not spraying.
I am just curious what the next steps in troubleshooting this would be. It starts, but as soon as the fuel runs out of the carburetor, it cuts off. So the carburetor is not getting more fuel.
Thank you in advance.

The float is what floats in the gas in the float chamber, that determines whether or not the carb should allow more fuel in. No fuel is in the float itself.
Fuel is sucked through the jet into the venturi. The venturi is a shaped chamber, and doesn't do anything other than create pressure changes as air flows through (so it doesn't spray anything).
If you're draining the float chamber, then the fuel pump is either failing to provide fuel, the float valve is stuck closed, or the float needs adjustment to change when the valve opens and closes.
I suppose a clogged jet could do it too, but then the car wouldn't start at all.
Check the float valve operation, and adjust the float.
