Default Ball joint went, and it wasnt pretty

drivers side ball joint went on my 86 civic si yesterday, went and looked today and when it went it pulled the CV shaft out and the tri pot threw the bearings everywhere, i got them and im taking them apart to clean and re grease. the alignment is ****ed. i dont think this job is gonna be a big deal to do

there is control arms on ebay for around 55 bucks with shipping or autozone has them for like 110 i believe. i know quality probably differs but the price difference is huge and im on a tight budget

all this after i did headgasket, t belt, and waterpump and drove it 30 miles... i dont think she likes me, i just need to make her like me hammer?

haha don't feel bad dude. my B2000 mazda gave me a week from hell right before MazdaFest and still didn't make it down there with it. I had an Alt, Starter, blown tire, exhaust hangers broke cuz they used the wrong ones when hanging them, and some dushbag hit and ran my tailgate also. Oh and its a little over a week and they just finished rebuilding my other blown starter. I pissed away 400 in one week just to keep my daily running for work. can wait to rip into my cvcc next week and get that done quickly so i have two vehicles again.

Good luck with the Repairs.

and does anyone know if the tri pot should come out with the CV shaft or is that supposed to be in my diff?

I've been rocking Autozone LCAs for several years now, they're pretty good parts

Yes, the tripot should pry out too, is part of the axle assembly. These guys on Ebay are just remarketers, they buy overstocks for a steal & resell, this is probably the same stuff one could get from parts chains

well i ordered the arms off ebay and i ordered new sway bar links and a cv boot, i was gonna replace the control arm bushings but they are very expensive to get the stock ones, and urethane ones are cheap but every place i can find that has them cant ship them till the end of the month so im just gonna put the old ones back in

well i did get the bushings, those arms off ebay came in and they fit perfect and seem nice but i dont think they are the highest quality but i dont think the parts store ones would be any different
