86 crx build needing tips
This is my 86 crx that i only paid $300
ive had it since about january 2010
i've put new cv axled, radiator, waterpump, thermostat, upper & lower rad. hoses, and cheap off the wall walmart radio
that and it has no side marker which is a pain and the headlight are from a sedan model civic (epic fail)
since i got this car i have found out that it was wrecked before and i had to straighten some body work out :/ within the front core support which is why the hood pins are there XD not cause its fast (at least not yet)
but i have no clue on where to start, so i was hoping someone could help me figure it out and i could build a frickin b/a sleepr crx haha
o and ya before that green thing was a street sign... ya prev owners were doing is medium, so i went big and put the bumper off a nissan sentra on the front of my car....

You got off to a good start with the stuff you already replaced. If there's no record of the last timing belt change, do that or have that done. Otherwise just save your money for when something breaks. I could be wrong but based on your post there it doesn't sound like you're in a position to modify or restore?

A geo metro lol but those rims looked like the aluminum mugen wheels btw saturn wheels will fit any thing that is 100 mm on 4 lug fits these cars I would put a brown top zc motor in it and do away with that carb or tbi intake mine as long as I am not ***** to da wall raceing gets around 330 miles to the 1/4 tank mark run some seafoam through the intake to clean the carbon out of the motor and you will get a lot better gas milage and only use one ounce

Re: 86 crx build needing tips
Using a torch to heat up springs and letting your car "settle" is a VERY bad idea, it ruins the spring's elasticity.
Pulling out the rear springs is easy, just cut off a coil or two... if you must.
The best idea is to buy a proper set of coilovers from Ground Control.

Re: 86 crx build needing tips
Essentials first! Redo the brake system, tune-up, timing belt shoulda been done with the water pump, replace rubber bushings on your suspension, and check your cv joint boots. Then work on mods. DO NOT HEAT THE SPRINGS! Don't cut corners when it comes to your car. If you can't afford to do it the right way, wait till you can afford it.

Re: 86 crx build needing tips
Don't cut the springs, or heat them... Please.... look on redpepperracing and get something from a legit company...
You will only ruin the struts you have and for sure blow what ever ones you put on there...
