1st gen CRX D16A1 swap
I recently aquired a 1st gen CRX for a price tha was to good to pass up, I've never owened a Honda this old besides an accord, I know it is a DX so I beleive it's the carbed EW motor, and I was looking into a D16A1 swap with dual webers, has anyone one here done this swap already and have any input as to what I would need to get it running? I know what mounts, axles, etc. I need to get it in but I'm unsure on what to do about the fuel system, an upgrades needed? Throttle cable? And what to do about the ignition and wiring, do i need the older 86-87 distributor? Do I not need to use an ECU if I'm going dual carb? Any input would be appreciated, I'd like to keep it carbed and from what I've read even after work the power from an EW is less than stellar, so any other swap ideas out there? The D16A1 seems like the best bang for the buck

Re: 1st gen CRX D16A1 swap
One thing youll need to find is an intake manifold for the carbs. I think TWM used to make them, but im not sure if they still do. A fairly expensive part IIRC.

The D16 was available in JDM and EDM 1st gens and it fits nicely. But the availability of parts is scarce for that engine. I would highly recommend going for a B series swap.

I had an EF with a D16A1 swap and it was a great little motor but aftermarket support was lacking, the cost and involvement for a B series swap, IMO, isn't worth it for a car I probablly won't have all that long
