1989 Accord parts questions???
I just bought a 1989 Honda Accord LX, and want to make this a daily driver, and at the same time a cheap project car. A want to keep busy with some DIY upgrades with this car, I am not too familiar with what parts are interchangeable from other Hondas to this car. I was hopping to get some cheap upgrades like brakes, and suspension. What parts would I be able to interchange to upgrade the car from it's stock form? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I am planing on going with some dropped springs, and shocks. Possibly from Ground Control. I wanted to try adapting a newer style OEM Honda exhaust. Providing some performance, and at the same time keeping it OEM.
Any ideas, suggestions, advice to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Re: 1989 Accord parts questions???
Ill try to take your questions 1 at a time.
1. Not many parts from other hondas are adaptable. 84-87 Preludes have the same motors in their cars (A20's), and some similar suspension parts are observed throughout alot of hondas.
2. Ground Controls are available for 3rd gen accords (86-89), but decent struts to handle that arent. The best we have available are stock replacements, and simply WILL NOT give you good ride quality. KSport makes a full bodied coilover kit for us, i'd suggest checking them out.
3. OEM Honda exhaust is gonna be a no-go. The 5th gen prelude aftermarket exhaust fit...ish. http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthrea...relude+exhaust Theres a thread about it, but no confirmation has been had on it.
For any other questions you may have, www.3geez.com is gonna be the place to go. You can look up the thread

Re: 1989 Accord parts questions???
If you need parts for that, let me know. I have a friend with an 89 Accord as well, that he's wanting to part out. Lots of clean parts. Interior is damn near immaculate. Radiator is no good, though.

Sweet! Just be warned, there are some people on there that are pretty uptight when you ask questions covered in stickies/how-to's. Much like on here lmao.
