16th Annual Honda S-car gathering (not limited to S-cars), Middletown NY. Sept 1-2.
I know there's the events/meets forum, but this is more directed to Classic Honda owners, so I figured I'd post this in here.
I want to let everyone know that there will be a little gathering of S-cars and S-car owners (and other classic Hondas and classic Honda enthusiats), on Labor Day Weekend, September 1-2, in Middletown, NY. If you're somewhat close, please stop by.
Exact location:
794 ROUTE 17M
MIDDLETOWN, NEW YORK 10940
Time: usually noon to whenever each day.
For more information, please see: http://www.hondasportsregistry.com/gather.php

How very cool, while I am in TN now instead of CA, it seems a bit far... I wish like heck I could go though. PICTURES GALORE would be appreciated greatly for those of us that can not make the california show or this new york show

Yes, I have some, but I need to edit them. For some reason, they all came out dark, I'm hoping I can lighten them up a bit in PS.
It was a decent turnout, although it's really not designed to be a "car show" of sorts, but rather a time and place for owners to gather, share thoughts ideas buy sell trade parts, help work on cars, etc...
If you don't count Brian Baker's (the host of the event), entire collection, but just his S600 that he had out there were 6 s-cars, and one very nice 81 Accord.
Cars included:
S800 roadster,
S800 coupe,
S600 roadsters x4
The 81 Accord had 3400 original miles, everything about the car was MINT, still had that new car smell, truly amazing.
Then there were people like me, s-car owners, but didn't bring their cars. I would have liked to have brought mine, but I don't have access to a truck/trailer.
Got to meet ekim with his S600, very solid car, and I couldn't get over that hard plastic dash, those are very rare, and his was in mint condition.
Overall it was a great time

As much as I loved seeing all of the S-cars, I too especially enjoyed the 81' Accord. In talking to the owner, out of the 3,400 original miles something like 1500 of them were just in driving to the gathering! so it HAD around 2000 miles when he got it (amazing!) the clock in the dash was also the old 70's style ROLL-AROUND display.

Aww shucks smithenhiven your kind words flatter me!
I had previously thought that ALL convertibles had the hard plastic dash, but Brian was quick to point out that it was a domestic marketing thing. JAPAN got most of their convertible dashes in hard plastic, I guess they saved the soft stuff for overseas?
Thanks again smithenhiven for the steering column hanger, I owe you one bigtime!!!

No problem on that part, it was a spare, and since you needed it, I was happy to part with it.
I'm not sure what to think about hard plastic dashes vs. soft dashes. My car was a Japanese domestic car with a soft dash. I guess mine isn't with the "most" of the Japan cars that got hard plastic. Anyway, you've got something special having that dash
