Going awd on the cheap... Going to be making any parts I can to try and keep the build under 1k.
Parts purchased
transmission/transfer case
land rover drive shaft
crv rear diff and axles
Parts to make or buy
trailing arm
fuel cell
exhaust
rear differential mount
welded differentials
shifter/cables
I work at a sheetmetal shop and plan on modifying old part to work with my current set up. I have an ls/vtec crx with about 500hp and $350 left on my budget. started the project a couple months ago. pinned differential
picked up some trailing arms hoping to trade later for something I need. $50 but are in terrible shape
Hoping to be finished by mid summer.

Reason: photos
currently have one short and long axle so I'm going to be stretching the rear by 3". I bought a 2nd set of trailing arms and will be shrinking them about 2" to better fit two short axles.
Love the CRX, had a single cam Si when I was 20. Reading this thread makes me really want to go get a welder and fab some stuff up. What are you using?

I'm using a miller dynasty 350 from work, wish i owned my own little shop though. Ive had this thing since high school. Happy i never sold it.
Wheel bearings will thank you for not running spacers. The shocks on the other hand. Going to double the lever arm on the suspension. Probably will need double the spring rate and valving.
Just picked my material. Bought some extra material just incase.
trying to find the strength to go to work at 3am to finish this up but working 65 hours is getting to me
Should have gone with the 4.5" pipe but this will work I guess. Bought enough material to make about 7 sets. found some 1/4 " stainless in the scrap pile. need longer bolts just placed on top not done
finally got some time off so I came in early to fix some mistakes. Messed up the brake caliper location but everything fits when you have a welder! will add more material and grind smooth replacing the torx bolts with something longer finishing the support too short!
