now that u showed everyone how easy it is im gonna have to throw mines away..just hope the thieves come with a new ecu..and a breaker bar to break the alpha lock...and remenber to tighten the lugs on the wheels....and the ignition forgot about that..

its about having layers..if u count only on ur lock...your gonna get a rude awakening one day...

First, if you look at the video. The lock button is not pressed all the way in. I tested this for 15 min and could not get this to happen. Fail/

Maybe its what you guys are using to insert into the key hole. His knife of whatever he was using may be small enough to hit the tumblers inside.

They sell round feeler guages that used to work perfect for this. You would stick it into the lock wiggle it around to hit the tumblers and turn it with a screwdriver. You would be surprised how many key locks I have been able to unlock that way. The cheaper the lock the easier to pick.

If you're running this as your only means of security you SHOULD be worried.

Curious. If you tried it on a FRIEND'S lock then what are YOU inquiring about a Works Bell for?

Not so easy to pick. I've used nail files, feelers gauges, etc. and still cannot "pick" the lock.

But what if they don't have a steering wheel to put on after they take the lock out?

Even if it takes them 15 seconds, that is 15 seconds longer, time stalled. IMO it is good to have something to slow them down, make them frustrated... it buys more time to be discovered/noticed the longer they are there.

Tried for another half an hour and still no go. This lock isn't getting picked by me. As I said, this should be just another layer of security. If you are STUPID enough to rely on this as your sole means of security you might want to just sell your car and get out of the Honda scene.
Anyone else BESIDES the OP want to verify how "easy" this supposedly is? If enough people have this issue then NRG might need to address it.

Locks only keep honest people out of your car. If they want it they will get it.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Heard it eleventy-billion times. And your point is? Do you let your car sit unprotected because "if they want it they will get it"? If you do you're not being smart. The point is to make it as difficult as possible for them to "get".

haha wow, didnt mean to offend anyone, just saying, if someone wants it they will get it.

Having the NRG lock is a good deterrent in my opinion as well as having other means of protection against theft.

heres the reply from nrg after i sent them a vid of me picking it

we tested many of these after view this video
seems to not have pins in the lock and must have been tampered with
if not take back to place of purchase and exchange it for one that
really works

replied and they ignored me since , thats real good typical after-sale service right there

We been trying for days to do this. Different knives, picks and tools. The only person that was able to do it was the keysmith next door and it took him a min to do it.

the thing is, i think. the lil springs under the tumblers worn out after time and then the locks begin to get looser and easier to pick... thats what happens with made in taiwan product
