I just got through demoing my new sub. First of all, I hooked it up and put it in the box. I connected amp. Got a wierd buzzing noise, and thought I wired the vc's backwards or something. I pulled the sub(my back), after 30 minutes or so of testing I find that one channel on my 1500DR is noisy. The TDX owned the ARC one more time on it's death note I guess

Sooo, I rewire the sub for 1 ohm and hook it to the good channel of my arc for now. I notice that the sub is damn loud considering volume level. I start driving. On low notes I hear a bad rattle. I pull over and pull down the rear seat to investigate, it goes away. I turn it up more, it comes back. It is my hatch cover thing behind the rear seat resting on my box I push the box back an inch. OK. All better now. More volume.

The sub sounds very good and loud. TDX still wins on the low end for now.

Are you going to fix it yourself?

Well I changed my mind. I met up with Abert(ATF Kuk) yesterday. He is going to send may amp in for me. I removed the sub. OMG. It is heavy in the box. I put it on my scale once I got it inside. 90 pounds.

When I get back from vacation the ported box comes, and I will say goodbye to my trunk

Do you use the hatch cover?

Well ATF got to listen to it in my "girly" box, I will have him post what he thought.

Considering the conditions that I have listened to it so far, 500 watts from half dead arc and small box, it blew me away. I can't wait to get this in a real box. I just got back from vacation today. I will try to build a ported enclosure this weekend. Hopefully my amp is back from ARC, again

The brahma and xxx are like brothers I am sure you will be very happy with it.

You don't think you have enough space in a teg hatch?

mobile electronics did a review on both the 10" brahma and 12" TDX. the TDX got a better review, could have been the fact that it was smaller, who knows

I spent the last 2 hours making cuts for the new box. Damn this thing is going to be huge. 4 cubes after sub displacement, tuned to 33 with 65 square inches of port area

ATF, tell Arthur I will be ready to battle.

no no no..reconing wouldn't help since all i did was unscrew the thing that holds the surround and the spider thing. hrm..still looking for that term. i remember david telling me something about it. a gauge! something like that.

Good luck then. Maybe ID can do it for you for a minimal charge. Plead temporary insanity.

I think I sprained a tendon in my hand trying to pull the xxx out of my sealed box. I am feeling very wussy right now

My ported box is on hold right now. I need to measure the potential new trunk before putting it together.

Also, RE updated their website. And GSteg, my 2 cube after displacement sealed box is right on their sq sealed recommendation. They also suggested 4 cube ported. *Patting myself on the back*

To keep me busy, and keep my mind off my car while I play the waiting game, I built a 1.3 box tuned to 30 with 14.5 square inches or port for an arc sub. These small boxes are a pain in the ***. Arc must have no idea how hard it is to get descent port area on such a small box I listened to it in ATF Kuk's car. Not a bad sub for the price.
