Default X-rated material inside

Today I purchased an Resonant Engineering 15 XXX. It should arrive by friday of next week. This weekend I will build a "small" sealed box for it. I may build a ported box too if I have the time. The ported box is scaring me though. It will consume my whole trunk probably. I will use the sealed box during my road trip, and put it in the ported box when I return.

Highlights:
15 inches - ooooh baby
32.4 linear xmax one way
1600 watts rms
it weighs as much as a 9 year old child

Did you get just one? are those the ones with the 1 ohm QVC's? Are you going to push it with your arc? Let me know what you think of it, I might be interested in getting one, would it be an upgrade from my 2 Eclipse titaniums?

RE does not like prices posted on forums. But about 400 +- 50 depending on size. The qvc option adds $30 or so. In qvc I think you can get 1.7 or .7 per vc. Don't quote me on that.

I will push it with my arc. 900-1000 watts should be enough to get some descent performance out of it. Buying the RE 1500 watt amp will only gain me 1.5 db. Maybe only ond db after compression. I think it would be an upgrade to the eclipses, since eclipse refuses to post t/s parameters on their subs Maybe you really want the 18 But seriously, for sq I don't think the eclipses will play as cleanly while playing loud.

I can only buy one anyway. I can't be caught with a sealed sub in public My trunk can only support one in a ported box.

I'll be ordering one too. I love the 15A, but it's time for an upgrade.

Can you stand up a 15 ok in the trunk. I think my trunk is only 16 inches tall.

I spoke to David with RE yesterday. My CC did not go through and I did not leave a contact number , so my sub was not built. Turns out my zip code got mixed up since I am having him ship it to my work. So it will be built monday and shipped, if not then it will be built tuesday and shipped three day on him since he promised that I would have it by next friday.

for David.

I built my "small" box today. 2.26 cubic feet sealed. I used my diy circle jig that I made a few weeks ago for the first time today. Why did I not do it this way sooner? Perfect circle, and it took me like 1/4 of the time. Besides the router it cost me $4 and 15 minutes to make. Plus I have enough .25 inch plywood to make a dozen of them.

For anyone building a lot of boxes, I highly recommend purchasing a router. Once you learn who to use it, you will not touch your jigsaw again.

oh no..why a 2.26 cube....that sub wants at least 3 man...now do yourself a favor and go out and buy some polyfill. 2.26..that like buying a turbo and running it at 10pis, but still have the stock 2" exaust pipe on. sure it'll work..but not as smooth and..well just not right..

boo for david..

I got the sub today. Looks like Dave got it out on Friday. I had it shipped to work. I walked in and it was waiting on me. Richard, my coworker moved it into my office. He was surprised at the weight. The box has big fragile signs all over it. Label says the container is 65 pounds. I opened it and pulled out the sub. This is the most massive subwoofer I have ever handled. BIG does not describe it. The magnet is bigger than the cone on my TDX.

Sorry for the late reply. I can squeeze an 18" high box in my trunk. The only hard part is getting it in there.

I made my box 16 inches tall. I will see how it fits, it is 13.5 deep external so I can flip it if it does not fit.

Here are pics of the beast http://vteg.mine.nu/gallery/vi...bum21
