wiring problem...weird
i posted a few days ago entitled "basic amp instillation" and everything is good except a few things.. so i spliced the wires that came through the door jam then to the headunit. i ran these to the 4 ch. amp and everything was good. everytime i hit the lock button on the door panel the horn goes off and the headlights dimmly flash, then to add to that the front left speaker is loud like normal the all the others are softer sounding. iknow for a fact that i have all the correct wires cut, so what do you guys think the deal is..thnx
I also have both amps running to the same battery if that has anything to do with it
there's nothing wrong with the sub either, just to rule that out.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT thnx.

what car do u own(year, make, model)?
do you have an aftermarket head unit?
and why did u splice the wires?
you should have just run new speaker wires through the grommet instead.
-----------
mostlikely u must have created a short at some point, most likely where u spliced the wiring...
I say just un do your work, and fix the stock wiring. Run new speakerwires from the amp to the door panels, and through the door grommets.
personally i don't like to mess with stock wiring, unless its just tapping into the wiring for an alarm or adding sidemarkers....
speakers anyway sound better with better wiring, so invest in some oxygen free copper wiring, 16ga+ would do you good for your regular speakers...
