Default Wiring problem somewhere - need some help.

Hi. For starters, I tried to search, but I don't really know how to word my problem without explaining it in detail...so my results were kind of vague. Secondly, I installed mobile audio and have a bit of experience, but not enough for bragging rights, and I've been out of it for ~ a year. So when explaining / helping me, take into account I'm not a naive 16 year old installing his first subs

I recently began my install on the following items:

Pioneer 7700 mp (old, I know)
Kicker 750.1
Kicker 340.4
Kicker RS652 components (front and rear)

Ok, so now for the problem. I installed everything but the rear speakers and it worked, but I've had some wiring issues behind the radio off and on the entire time. For one, I had whining noise. I've a couple basic checks, and still haven't figured it out...grounds are good, wires ran on opp sides of the car, and none of the wiring / RCA's was cheap, and bought brand new. Second, to be blunt, my mids / highs suck. I only have my fronts in, but I've heard plenty of cars with 1 and 2 speakers in it, not amplified, on shitty speakers, and they are louder / more clear than my speakers. All of this equipment was in its original packaging for about a year under my bed, but nothing is damaged that I can tell. Any suggestion on my volume loss? - This is why I explained I worked in the industry for a bit. I don't want to sound like some kid that wants his **** "bangin", I'm legitametely not getting quality sound.

Thanks for the time

ok for the Noise - did you use factory hu ground? RCA's - are these new? old?
Try a new ground location, maybe your currently used ground location is not suitable.
Are you using an electronic xover/eq?

Not enough volume - i know these question may seem insulting, but we all make mistakes, its usually the simple ones that get us.
Did you adjust the gain yet?
are you crossovers set correctly ( hu and amp)?
is there a "loud" feature on this hu? i haven't installed a 7700mp in like 4 years and don't remember.

your whining noise is a ground loop. You have a bad ground somewhere.

What did you plug in first on the hu? The rca's or the power/speaker harness?

Yes on the factory head unit ground, I could easily reground that. The RCA's are new, and the only equilizer I'm using is in the radio. My gain / crossovers are set correctly, and yes, there's a "loud" feature on the head unit. And it's on. And No worries, I make some pretty dumb mistakes so nothing can be insulting when there's a possibility that's what's wrong.

Hmm...I used to always plug in harness then RCA's, but since I was doing 3 pair, maybe I plugged those in first to ensure they were in the right spot. Is there a right / wrong way to do this?

Thanks

maybe the grounds for the rca are bad on the head unit try grounding the rca with a separate wire to a good ground source.

unplug everything and use a meter to check the ohms on the ground use one lead to the rca output ground and the other lead to the radio chassis see how much resistance it has.
