Wiring power door locks
Hi, i recently purchased a DEI 4 door power door lock kit off of ebay, and i have a few questions. I want to hook the door lock kit up to my Clifford Intelliguard 8000. The kit included two 5-wire locks, and two 2-wire locks. It also came with a complete wire harness and a relay. I have a 99 Civic hatchback. Which locks do you recommend me using, the 5-wire or 2-wire locks? Also, which wires do I hook the lock/unlock wires from the harness up to to the alarm? It should be connected to the gray/green and gray/orange wires correct? Please help, thanks.
i have never really messed w/ this kit before but i know that we sell dei 2 wire door locks at work and use them and they work great for all the alarms and keyless entrys we install.. basically the alarm has 2 wires to lock/unlock the doors, the selionds need to be connected to those wires for them to get power to lock/unlock w/ the alarm..
alright cool....yea i think i am going to use the 2 wire locks instead now. i have also heard that my clifford intelliguard 8000 brain has an onboard relay on it.
