Default Will this fuel kill switches setup work?

I'm trying to add a switch to my current fuel kill setup.. I was wondering if adding a switch between the relay and the current switch will work? how many amps are running thru the wire between the switch and relay? im working on a 96ek

Thanks in advance.

There is less then a 250mA load on that lead, it only controls the relay. 94

Yes. The setup you have shown will work.

Why did you add a second switch?

i would think a second switch will make it that much harder if a thief got lucky and found the first one.

If you want to use two switches then I would recommend that they each have their own lead going to the relay.

94_dc4-

i might be misunderstanding and often i do, im im wrong i would like to be set correct. i want two switches both to be switch on for the fuel pump to come on. wouldn't having two switches to ground the relay defeat the purpose of having two switches?

thanks for help,
Jon

because i am extending beyond 5 feets of wires and wish to make sure that the fuel pump isnt starving for more power...

emporor9- Yes you are right. Having two switches will defeat the purpose. I didn't pay close enough attention the diagram. If you set it up as normally closed then it would make more sense having two swithches.

And if you want to double up install a switch on the ECU/ECM control lead to the fuel pump relay, also a low current ground, no 12V+ to deal with at all, no relays, and very little wiring. 94

fcm- where is the pgm-fi main relay located at? what lead is the power lead to that so i can use the ground next to it like you said.. will doing this cut power to ecu so that everytime i turn the 1a switch off the ecu is basically being reset? im really interested in main relay kill switch. im just going off suspendedhatch stickie on how to provide better anti-thief protection for our hondas.

thank you all for your input.

You might want to mention your year/make/model before you go asking where certain things are located. Or you can ask a pyschic...

fcm's been telling people this for years. I guess it's time for me to do a write-up "pikturs, yay!!"

The PGM-FI Main Relay is located 4-5 inches directly above the hood release on 88-91 Civics, there is only one black lead, and the ECU/ECM lead is green/yellow.
It is a normally switched power to the ECU/ECM, so it does not reset ECU/ECM. 94
