Who makes 10"s that can handle 500W RMS that can fit in SMALL spaces?
Here's my dillemma:
I just finished building a box for my del sol. It fits behind the seats (so space is LIMITED), has apprx. 0.7 cuft per chamber of airspace (sealed). I only have between 4.75" and 5.5" of mounting depth (top mount), so I need a couple of 10"s that will fit in there.
Here's the hitch. I spent a lot of mony on my amp a few years ago, and don't want to get rid of it. I have a RF Power 1000.2 (rated by RF to pump out 250Wx2 @ 4Ohms, or 1000Wx1 @ 2Ohms; RMS). I don't like running my subs in stereo (just a personal preferance), so I want to bridge it down to 2 Ohms.
Any ideas for some good 10 inch subs that can handle some power, but still fit in such a small space????????? Price range: $50 - $250 PER sub

I'm liking the ED e10o.14, but I have never heard one of these speakers first hand and none of the audio shops around here (that I know of) carry that brand. Any personal experience you might want to share?

My roommate has a PG Tantrum...sounds pretty good for the money he paid, so if the Titanium is of the same or better quality as the Tantrum (which I'm sure it is), I know I'd be happy with a couple of those in my sol........I think I was better off without all the choices!!!! I almost had my mind made up!!!!

I haven't heard them personally, but have read nothing but good feedback about them, on various boards. It's what I'm going with, when I finally tear my wallet away from engine performance mods. Haha. No stores should carry them, they're a direct order company. (also why the pricing is so good, no middleman) Their customer service is second to none. They'll help you with everything from sub selection to box design, for their subs of course. Version 2 of their line is available for pre-order right now.

hehe, well it's only a few choices, it's just a matter of budget and preference. havent heard of the EDs, i'll probably check it out. i've had personal experience with the Phoenix Gold's XMAX, Octane-R, Tantrum, and Titaniums. as you can see, i'm very hooked on PG. here's my reviews.
Octane-R: probably can't take a whole 500 watts but it's cheap, stylish and very good sub. ($50-100 ea.)
Tantrum: very rugged design, built for total abuse. SPL sub. better. ($70-120)
XMAX: excursion is crazy, almost a full inch of excursion. hence the name "XMAX" very SPL. best in my opinion. ($40-150) got my 12" for $40
Titanium: SPL & SQ. english: LOUD & c l e a r. best of both worlds. ($80-150)
good luck on your quest for the perfect system.
