Default What type amp to use

i need some reccomendations for a amp to power a sony xplode 12" sub in a walmart box with a 1200 watt peak for the time being. any help would be appreciated.

well since its a 1200W sony sub i'd say look for a 300-400W peak amp. they get the name xplode for a reason.

is it a ported, or sealed box? Reason I ask, is the sealed handles more power than ported. Because of less excursion on the woofer. Like EBP_SI said, I'd use 300 to 400 watts. Clarion, Sony, Kenwood or PPI amps have always treated me good. Or go high dollar and ****** a nice MMATTS, or Memphis.

of course

firstly it will cancel out the crap in your ride, one crappy sub one killer amp

secondly it will (hopefully) explode the explod and it will get replaced by something more worthy!
