what next? (audio setup help)
I just started putting together a decent system for my new car (96 gsr) and i'm not sure what to do next, I could use some suggestions. I bought a Pioneer 4600mp head unit, installed that, and my Infinity Reference 6002si's should be arriving early tomorrow.. after I put those in, what's good to do next? Like I said in my previous posts, I'm not looking for anything amazing, the current setup really just doesn't sound that good.
I found out one of my speakers was actually dead, except for the tweeter, so putting in the new infinity's should help a good amount. Is the trouble of replacing the rear speakers even worth it? Should I use some sort of enclosure'd subwoofer and just skip replacing the rear speakers? I haven't really done anything car audio related in quite some time so I could use some advice..

YEs it is worth the trouble. Actually, i dont no what trouble you are talking about. It is quite easy to change 6.5 speakers in the back of a teg. Just play with it a little. Its easy plug in and play, and it will sound SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than stock. If your not happy with that, then ask your self why not. If theres not enough bass, through a cool lil sub in the back. If you want more highs, replace the tweets or run an amp to your speakers. Its all what you perfer.

I believe he's talking about the trouble of having to take off the whole rear panel in a 2dr. Yes it is a pain in the *** to take the panel off but like DEBOGSR said, it's well worth it. Just plan on giving up around 1-2 hours to do it. You can try pop off the grills in front of the speaker and replace it that way, but you won't get the precise mounting that a true audiophile would want.

It too me about 45 minutes and i popped off the grills. I mounted them good also. Good luck. Some have said to have alot of trouble with em. but its definitly worth it.
gosh, i hope it doesnt give you that much trouble now.
It really wasnt that bad for me. Its just tight quarters( the backseat) and when i did mine it was like 100 degrees in my car. Good luck with that man.
Let us know how u do...
