As Sony rates this sub as a 90 to 350 RMS power range woofer, 1200W is probably a little over the top, and you would have to be very careful not to over drive the sub I don't know what a "c700" is so I can't check check the specs, but if you are going to run that kind of power, install the sub in a sealed box, and make sure it is one hell of a beefy box 1" MDF all the way around, bracing silicone the inside seams seal inside of box with a sealer, [fiberglass resin works] and make sure the mounting hole is just big enough, and use a gasket for the sub. This box needs to be AIRTIGHT. 94

The MTX 9500 Series is in, and some might say beyond, W7 territory. Though I am not a huge MTX fan, I would in no way classify it as a piece of crap.

Can you return that sony sub. They are horrible. We bought one just to joke around with it, and It only took 300 watts of real power to fry it in the recommended enclosure. It sounded like *** and distorted like crazy with any sort of volume.

Those sony speakers actually do explode, they really suck ***. Buy an infinity kappa, they are good midrange woofers. Or even a pioneer impp unit. The new fosgates are cheap as hell, unless you can find an older HE2/HX2. MTX is also good for midrange, but not one of my favourites.

I don't know if they sell them in the states, but kaption units are pretty good as well. My buddy is running a pair or 12"s in his 'lude with my old Alpine MRD-xxx (forgot the model) monoblock, they sound decent for the price. (Kaption are canadian made speakers, mid to mid high level)
