i just installed a vss5000 in a 89 crx, (remote start and security) everything was soldered and shrink wrap. took the dash out and did a hidden and tucked away install. my problem is that when i arm the car i get the second chirp for zone 5 (ignition trigger) and also i cant program my alarm because of it. when i open my door an arm it, the code 5 goes away and of course zone three will flash. i have the smart start module disconnected still like the small cheap a$$ install guide said. i read 12v at the brain on the remote start ribbon harness that comes from the remote satellite relay (ignition input to alarm, yellow wire) and it will not drop 12volts off the ignition input with the key on or off. all my heavy guage wires from the remote start are all terminated correctly, ive checked them at least 5 times. i just dont know where it reads the ignition input from, no brain wires but the heavy guage wires from the relay connect to the ignition circuit and ive traced that wire down already to the blk/yellow #10 gauge.

 

i just got off the phone with a tech and apparently my quick reference sheet that was included was wrong he gave me a completely different way to hook up the heavy guage #10 wire. why would DEI misprint information like this jeez! what a waste of my time and already FUBAR'd lower back from being under the dash troubleshooting their misinformation lol! time to go solder.
