Default Viper 5900 Remote Replacement

I bought a replacement remote for my 5900 becuase i broke the LCD on the other one, and i am having trouble syncing it to my alarm. i read the instructions and opened my door, turned the ignition to "ON", and held the valet once, but while holding the valet it never chirped like it was suppose to, yes my door sensors and ignition sensors all work properly, could it be my valet button doesn't work? any help? am i doing anything wrong?

Try putting the car in valet mode. That'll tell you if your valet switch is working or not.
