I have a 5900 and my valet button doesnt work. Here the Scenario...Wife would lock the car and go into class. Few hours later i would come get the car to get the kid. I unlock the car with my key at this point everything all good. Once i try to start the car the alarm would go off, there is no siren because i didnt install one in, so just the lights flashing. So i try holding the Valet button with no luck. Does it not work because i dont have the (-) door trigger input hook up? I using this system because 1. i like the range 2. it has a remote start and 3. two way remote.

What i would like to do is disable the automatic door lock ones once the key is inserted or when i start the car and two turn OFF the alarm feature.

 

First....you need to have the (-) door trigger input [GREEN] wired in. The alarm is thinking that the door is open. Secondly, in order for you to turn off the alarm, you need to press the Valet button for about 6-8 seconds while having the key in ignition (not RUN). Do not crank the car or let the ignition to turn on the dash lights.
