Default tweeters?

So I just installed a set of used tweeters in my hatch and I can't hear anything come out of them unless I unplug the main speaker then obviously I can hear it but its so low that its barely there I have to turn up the stereo up to 20 which is 2x higher than what I normally listen at (10ish) anyone know what might be the problem

I got them from the local junk yard paid like 4 bucks so I'm not worried if there bad not really sure of the impedance I didn't really look at them. I just know that I saw them and had to grab them when I did cuz there was a guy looking at the same car while I was looking at it and didn't want to looses out on something I have been wanting to add to my car for a while now

You would of been better off buying yourself a match set of components then them. Let the other guy buy them. The past week I have been selling radios over this type of setup and not to sound like a dick voiding warrantys over this. What kind of tweeters are these?

How is the tweeter wired?

What are you using for a x-over for the tweeter?

What HU do you have?
What speakers are you using?
Are you using an offboard amp? 94

if you dont have them crossed over to around 3500hz or higher, they wont do their job well, or last long.

fcm no there isn't anything like that on my set its just a set of wires directly to the plug and there solidered to the speaker so maybe there was a crossover on the door harness in the donor car

You must have a x-over for the tweeters, driving them with a full-range signal will damage them, if not already damaged. 94

this pretty much sums it up. besides that, you dont always want to just hook up more speakers to a lead already powering a speaker. it will change the ohm load on whatever am is powering it.

aGR1o eL DueNo: who the hell wants garbage bullet tweeters anyway? besides, look at the pile of **** and how well its been cared for in your pic. do everyone a favor and keep it or throw it out...but dont try to sell it here... HAHAHA

in your opinion to keep a stock look what would you get to install in the stock pods i dont want to spend 65 bucks for a single tweeter from the dealer

and if it doesent include the x-over what exactly do i need to add to it to have that x-over (if you havent noticed i am not the greatest with adding tweeters)

You need to add a bi-polar capacitor in series with the pos.(+) lead to the speaker, [6dB x-over] or a cap and cap/resistor, [Zobel] [the "value", [microfarads] of the cap(s) and resistance of resistor will depend on the x-over point you need.

The simplest is the 6dB, [cap only] x-over, it is what the stock system comes with, this should help... http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/cross.asp read. 94
