Default trying to install a new stereo.

On the old one that came with the car, (not stock), the wires were unidentified on both sides. the wires comming from the car are cut so short i can't see anything that lets me know whether they are speaker wires, pos, neg, anything. so i looked at the wires comming from the radio connection, those were not labeled either. so i pulled the stereo out thinking that maybe the electrical tape was covering the labels, but there was nothing. so, now i'm stuck with a new stereo and i don't know how to determine which wires are which. i need help, because i do not feel like paying anyone to do this for me, especially something as simple as installing a radio.

Why would you think wires would be labeled??

They are, however, color coded, which act just like labels. You can find which wire is which on http://www.installdr.com.

i thought theywould be labeled because I've hooked up a stereo to my old car before, and there was actually words typed onto the wire coating. I'll check the link now, thanks.
