Trying to decide between Alpine 9856 and Eclipse CD2000
I'm looking to get a new deck and will most likely go with Alpine 9856 or Eclipse CD2000. They've both got similar features: Sat. Radio ready, MP3 playback, etc.
Do you guys have recommendations? They're both priced at ~$200.
Thanks.

Go with the Alpine 9856. It is really easy to navigate, great product and it looks as good as it performs. You cant go wrong with either.
I own a 9856....
I love it!
only thing i don't like about alpines.. is their preouts..
they aren't on pigtails... so its kinda hard to install "some" rcas..
if u use the amp kits that come with smaller rcas, its not a problem.. but if u make ur own rcas, like i did, its a tight fit...
but i own a eg, so i don't know about eks and stuff..

alpine all the way, i was going to to with the 9856 but decided for the 9857, no pigtails=gay, my ej cluster was a bitch to get out to install everything, but i'd still take alpine over eclipse in the end

I have my ipod connected also and it is quick! I ordered mines off of crutchfield for $200 and it came with everything needed. All i had to do was connect all the wires together which was easier than i thought because they were color coded for the most part.

Don't like the new style face (where the volume **** is first then : buttons), don't like how there's 3 rows of buttons, cannot change the color of the buttons (only blue/green I believe), non-motorized face, 2volt instead of 4volt preamp. The only thing I do like about it is that you could push the volume **** in, that's about it.

I had a 9831 (I believe?) and I loved it. I could match the amber color of my S2k. Didn't know you don't have the color options with the newer models.
