well I would suggest chop mat, only because it is easier to work with around the corners than cloth mat, and if you can find some 7.5 oz mat that would be cool with like two layers. If not do a couple layers of 3 oz mat which will be easier to work with than the 7.5oz. And here are some links to help you out:

http://www.fibreglast.com/cont....html

You'll really appreciate the last link, not to promote another forum or anything but that site is great and not just fiberglass but all car audio/security/wiring.

Merry christmas.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by hb420 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">yes it will be strong enough</TD></TR></TABLE> Ditto that, you will need a few layers, we do at least 4 layers, about 1/4" thick for most of our fiberglass boxs, [with proper bracing] it's all you need, if it's for a real high watt system, [ around 1000W rms or higher] we will go about 8 layers 3/8"- 1/2".

BTW number of layers will depend on weight of fiber glass, and like most things more thin layers is better then fewer thick layers, and as has been mentioned lighter weight mat is easier to work with. 94
