Thats some interesting stuff....where are you getting it from?
Far as the carpet, the car was bought used, guy had two kids, and it was like that. Ive had it two years and so far no spills, so im not too worried about under the seats being a bad environment for my amps...far as that goes my trunk has been a dirtier environment and except for theives my other amps did fine there. THis is the first time ive had the seats out and it does look crappy, so its on my to-do list to clean the caret before the seats go back in...but in the big picture right now its a minor concern, i figured someone would diss it tho
get some 1/8 or 1/4 inch straps made then they won't go anywhere.
Thanks for all the (mostly) good feedback!

greyzone, arent you worried about heat and ventalation under the seats?
When I inquired about mounting an amp under my passenger seat, people said I shouldnt do it due to a lack of ventalation.

If under the seats, which is fairly "airy" isnt good enough, how could people possibly do stealth installs into seat backs?? And for that matter, in the spare tire compartment area and have it covered?
I can see it now, next ill mount little custom 12v fans under the seats..., popwered with the amps power line...
It is a good question though, think ill run it by MTX
And yes, I do have way too much time on my hands

Anyway,
Well, I called MTX today, they said that yes, in the summer at least, ventalation could be a problem with the amps under the seat....but theres 2 things to do to help with that.
Since im gonna redesign the steel straps anyway (a bit thicker, more form fitting) its gonna be no biggie:
1) Cut out the carpet and mount them directly on the metal car bottom to get them off of the carpet and its padding. Ground loop will not be a problem.
2) Cutting out the carpet will also provide more clearence at the top of the amps, the next thing will be to install 12v brushless fans and place by the amps. There cheap at Radio SHack and probably cheaper at some computer stores im gonna check.
Anyway, on to stage 2 of R n D.
