This should stop the bastards!
Picture 1: Steel straps are form fitted to cover amps. Then double wrapped in electrical tape with foam padding on bottom side to cushion against amp.
Picture 2: Amps are placed under the seats, holes are then drilled through floor, using 3/8 bolts with large washers and bolted from underneath car. Amps cannot be removed without steel straping being removed first.
Pictures 3 and 4: Nuts and bolts are welded from underneath, they are NOT coming off unless cut off with a die grinder.

After two thefts in one year I've had it!!!!!!!!! Bastards!!!!!!!!!! These amps are NOT going anywhere....of course, now they might steal the whole car.....

HaRDcore is right! Im tired of softball with these dicks that cant get a life and have to take ours!
THe main draw back is when i need to remove them. I gotta go back to the shop and have them cut off on a lift with the damn die grinder....but at least no slimy drug seeking theif is gonna walk off with my stuff!
Bastards! (Sorry, im just a weeeeEEEEEE bit pissed...and this is only ONE of several NEW security measures Im am taking)

The bigger amp, even with the seat removed, cannot slide out. There is simply not enough room. It would either hit the door jam/carpet rise, or the center console, so two straps across was good for that one. Plus, the steel straps are extremely tight, there really is no "sliding them out" unless the straps are removed first.
But, just in case, on the smaller amp, I used a cross pattern. Otherwise, i think this is about the best way to keep the amps from being taken...at least "quickly." Whatever they do will trigger my alarm, my pager will go off, and im out there in 60 seconds tops anyway...they aint getting these amps out in 60 seconds.

I like the idea. I will use it once I find a good theft resistant bolt to accompany it. I found this
From the description it looks round but is really oval and requires a special driver to remove it. They don't sell oval nuts though. They sell a nut cover that is very difficult to remove and
and this one which looks close to impossible to get out

good idea man.. but those steel staps can be cut w/ tin snips or bolt cutters w/ no problem at all.. we have cut interior doors so that speakers can fit in my shop using tin snips w/ no problem, im sure your straps arent that strong..
good thinking tho bro.. u gotta think of it this way, if they want your car or parts bad enough they can and will get them..

yeah, i was thinking about the tin snips/bolt cutter angle...gotta come up with something for that.....damn....but i've got another idea brewing that i think will take care of that....
And yeah, no helmet or even goggles...said he was just looking "behind" the flame nozzel and not at it, that he just needs to be careful where he looks...not for me tho...

How much do they charge to do something like that? To me, security screws for the most part are a waste. I've never seen a thief take to time to "uninstall" something. Its usually just a ****** and run.

doing this myself...you know, if you want it dfone right type of thing...and its taking so long to do this custom work i'd be paying a small ransom for everything im doing (this is just a small part)...i've rewired and reconfigured my dash, gauges, heater/AC switch placement...and more...all designed to slow the thieves down and make their job more difficult...my goal, in part, they may damage my stuff trying to get it out, but they aint gonna get it!

holy ****.... those things aren't going nowhere, lol.
looks like your bigger amp is on a slight angle though, too late now though...
even with tin snips, those brackets would be pretty hard to cut, cause you'd have to cut through the padding and electrical tape and stuff. still, it would take them quite some time to cut both the straps. and by then, you'd probably catch them

question; why not design an amprack subwoofer enclosure into the spare well that can be totally stealth but not a headache to remove?
all that welding could be done to make bolts locking down the compartment where the spare tire resided as a locked type of cabinet

Plus, i like having easy access to the amps as far as tuning, so i can be in the car and tune at the same time...couldnt do that with them in the spare well...and if bolts were welded there would be no access to the amps to tune them, etc.

Aren't you worried about your amps getting dirty of having stuff spilled on them??
i mean look at your carpet....It's not exactly spotless
