I am in the process of starting to make a list of the stereo I am soon to be purchasing. I am leaning towards 2 12" kicker solobarics but am wondering about JL Audio. There are no stores around here that carry JL so I can't just go out and listen to them. I am wanting a system that pounds but still has good quality. So far I was going to use a Kicker KX600.1 for the subs and a KICKER KX600.4 for mids and highs. Was thinking of MB Quarts for mids and highs. Am just wanting some general opinions as to how this might sound or what other brands would be better. Have been out of the stereo scene for 5+ years so I am a little out of date on some things.

JL and MBQuartz never been too much of a fan of the kickers, they sound good, but they arnt my style...I went rockford and MBQuartz

 

IMO, kicker and JLaudio are fantastic pieces, but a bit overrated. fosgate is great for bang for the buck. HUGE bass but doesnt rip a hole into your pockets.

 

kicker solo's are tight.... but im a jl fan..

 

i would deff. go with jl if you can afford it. they are a lil pricey but you get what you pay for. kicker is good too, but i think that round subs just sound better. you could use 1 jl w6v2 and it would sound better than 2 solobarics. but thats just my opinion
