System install question
im starting my system project soon... and have a question.
i have 4 subs.. two 12's and 2 8's all fosgate punch old schools.. anyways.. i want to set it up so i have the two 12's centered and then one 8 on each side angled.. will this be ok or will there be danger of blowin the subs or bad sound qualiy. if you have ideas on how to position them let me know.

What kind of car, and are you making your own box? Or doing a fiberglass encloser, Free Air or false floor? Whats the power and are they DVC, SVC, are you going to port, whats the amp power, can it be run at 1 ohm? All these questions need to be answered first.
If it's any type of hatch, 1 12" would be enough.

yea.. sorry i was a little vague on the question.
it will be a mdf made box in the trunk of my civic coupe. i dont have kicks so i cant put the 8's up there.. but i already have mb quart components.
i have phonix gold amp 8.0 and will be used for the 12s and a clarion amp for the 8's.
they will be sealed.. unless ported will be better? no 1 omh.. 4 maybe 2..
what dvc ..svs.. sorry??

dvc = dual voice coil
svc = single voice coil
what ohms are they? and we can tell you the best way to wire it so you don't hurt your system, the way you want it positioned will work just fine, wiring is the next step

i just took them out of the box for the first time today.. the model number on the back of the 12's is rfp1412. im not sure wat dvc and svc is.. but on each sub there is two male connecters for both positive and negative. (2 males for each)-2 for pos and 2 for neg..
if u could find info on that model number that would be great. i went to rf.com and couldnt find much and called a few places but no luck...
they are pretty old.. my brother gave them to me.. he used to have them in his supra in like 92-94..around that time.. i believe they were new at teh time. they still hit hard though..

It will work fine, but I would not put the 8's in the rear with the subs. It would just be a waste of you're time.
Istead, I would put the 12's in the trunk, and find a way to mount the 8's somewhere up front for midbass. You can buy/make fiberglass kickpanel enclosures for them, but I dont know what your skill level/budget looks like.

yea.. the thing is i have mb quart tweeters with sony mids... unless i use both 6.5 sonys and the rf 8's.. yea i can fiber glass kicks up front.. but dont have time.. so i guess ill just put the 12's in .. and can always add the 8's later if i want
forgot to say.. i have a gutted trunk and will be making the whole trunk from scratch.. is there any suggestions.. such as the way i should angle the subs or anything else..
just one comment... people often have top or bottom firing subs... that's bad... it often wears out the voice coils from the weight of the cone itself. Just a tip.
i m installing the subs perpindular to the floor of the trunk itelf..2 straight and two angled like 45 degrees from the others.. im not putting them upside down or laying like a plate where the sub faces up. if thats wat ur talkin about.
