why sealed? and i'd go with either a dd 3512 or a kicker L7, id also go ported but thats my thing.

 

Cause I'm a big fan of sealed enclosure, I like clean/accurate/crisp bass response. And no thanks for a Kicker L7, I wouldn't run those if someone gave me one for free.

Why do I not like the L7? I do not like Kicker Solobaric subwoofers at all. My brother has one, I do not like how they sound at all. They're loud yes, but sq wise I hate them.

What kinda box he has it in?
And any other details...amp,radio,car etc..

I had one in my next door neighbors single cab truck and it sounded awesome.
Sealed box with a Hifonics 1605Titan,pounded crazy for 1 12in and hit every note we threw at it.

 

im not an audio expert, but maybe you could try looking into the Diamond Audio subs and etc. nice and clean crisp bass

 

maybe try a cerwin vega stroker?.

Ported custom box, built with Kickers specs, Alpine headunit, Hifonics BX1500D amp.

EDIT: I'm leaning towards fixing my friends Image Dynamic IDMAX V3 12" Subwoofer. Either that, or get this 12" W7 I found for a good deal.

 

Get the JL w7.

Clean output at almost all volume, unless you have an itch for SQ then get the W6v2, but the output isn't as great.

I wish I still had my W7. Better than many subs I've heard.

 

just to defend tha badguy a bit, the W7 and Titanium are in the same class, as far as them both being high power handling SQ subs. The area where they differ however is in tone. the Titaniums metal cone gives it a totally different sound.

I would get a W6V2 but I've already been that route, looking for something different and louder.

I can't it's so tough I think I'll either fix the 12" IDMAX V3 subwoofer or a 12" JL W7 if I can get it for a good deal and get me a hold of the underrated Rockford Power T3002 amp and check out what the T3002 Challenge is all about.

 

Have you ever heard any Memphis subs? Those can hit pretty hard. I'd take a look at those if you are looking to not get a W7.
