Default sub problem help?

okay i have a 12 t1 sub and was banging it then i heard a pop. sounded like a bebe gun going off. it did it a couple of times. the sub stills pound hard but if you listen to it carefully you can hear nosies. so the question is can it be repair? also when you press it in on one side it scratches. but only one side the others are okay.

The voice coil bottomed out inside the magnet structure, that was the "pop" noise you heard, and it sounds like it cased some damage. The voice coil assembly is thin aluminum with a copper winding, very fragile, doesnt fend well when it makes violent contact with the magnet structure.

Repairable? not likely for the money and effort it would cost, there arent many folks around these days in the speaker rebuilding/recone business.
