Icon6 Sub Enclosure

Hey guys I would like a little bit of help! I have a 94 civic coupe ex and I am looking for a single 10" subwoofer box that's either factory, online or local pick up in the Atlanta area that can be placed on either left or right side of the trunk that would have the built in look. Not in the middle like typical boxes.

It may be hard to find anything for a car that old, MTX still makes a loaded box...

I wouldn't even bother trying to buy one. It is much easier to build one. Especially if your looking for the factory look. What type of Sub are you looking to install?(this dictates the type of box you are looking for/building)

homemade boxes will always sound better imo. the sub dictates the box. A lot of places just throw the subs in a bassworks box and sell it. You want the best sound quality, build it yourself. Plus you can always cover it how you want making the install look very clean.

plexiglass box < MDF box

plexiglass box is more for looks rather than sound quality or SPL. If you know how to work with fiberglass, you can make one to fit that location. However, the cost of making one out of FG isn't cheap.

Each manufacturer has its own recommended requirements for best sound quality out of their subs. So, even a very basic home made box (if done properly) is going to sound better then just slamming any old sub in a pre-made box.

The MTX loaded box I linked is specific to the OPs car and is loaded with the correct sub for that enclosure, it was designed to sound the best it can for his car, using the subs thiele/small parameters, with the car in the equation...

I know I can most likely build a better box, but not much, [using same sub] and I have been doing car audio for over 30 years, including SQ/SPL competition systems.

Unless the OP has the tools and knowledge to build sub enclosures, he/she is far better off getting one that is premade for his car. 94
